On Wednesday 27th February Sheffield Hallam University are hosting a CPD workshop, delivered by Andrew Shepherd, looking at the detail and knowledge required in working with female athletes. This will be a very informative workshop, looking at the specific skills we need & use around coaching the female athlete. Andrew is a specialist in this area and can enhance our knowledge around working effectively with female athletes.
Some information on Andrew:
"Andrew Shepherd is a Sport and Exercise Nutritionist and Sports Scientist whose role is to help athletes improve their nutrition habits, technique and processes through individual workshops, small group workshops and lectures/talks enabling them to perform at their best.
In addition to holding a BSc and M.Dip from Sheffield Hallam University, Andrew is also a Practitioner Registrant with the Sport and Exercise Nutrition register (SENr), holds a Level One Anthropometrist (ISAK Level 1), Level 2 certificate in Food Safety, the UKAD Accredited Anti Doping Advisor Certificate.
Andrew now works for Sheffield Hallam University (including Team Hallam, Performance Athlete Support Programme (PASP) and Sport England Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS) as well as working for Swim England and running Absolute Sports Nutrition http://www.absolutesportsnutrition.co.uk/home. In these roles, he works with athletes, parents and coaches of all ages to address day to day issues faced nutrition in training, competition and times of illness and injury. During this time Andrew has supported Amateur, Junior, World, Olympic, Para-Olympic and Commonwealth Games athletes.”
The workshop will be held in the lecture theatre here at Collegiate Campus, Hallam University, starting promptly at 6pm.
Free tea & coffee will be available from 5.30pm pre workshop.
